The 2019 edition of the East Northeast International Film Festival (ENE) in the US has set to screen Iranian short ‘Slaughter’.

Co-directed by Saman Hosseinpour and Ako Zand-Karimi, ‘Slaughter’ takes the audiences to a simple village where a family owns only one cow.

The short flick narrates the story of the family that has to sell the cow to live through a tough winter. The family’s son, however, is not happy with the deal, so he lets the cow escape.

It has so far attended a number of global events, including the 2018 Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria, the 17th Third Eye Asian Film Festival in India, the 12th Kustendorf Film and Music Festival in Serbia, the 12th International Glasgow Short Film Festival in Scotland, and the ninth FOKUS film festival in Denmark.

The short film won Best Cinematography award at the Asian Cinematography Awards in the Philippines in March 2019.

The 2019 ENE will also screen ‘The Man Who Forgot to Breathe’ by Saman Hosseinpour, ‘Starvation’ by Zahra Rostampour, and ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ by Mohammad Bakhshi from Iran.

The ENE celebrates independent films, music, and the green technology industry all at the crossroads of the future to be a part of a diverse and creative global community.

The 2019 ENE is slated for August 23-September 2 in Newburgh, New York, the US.
